yes that's a problem - we will have to integrate google web search to overcome this issue. let's wait and watch.

can't delete private messages

there is no option called 'delete message or conversation'

However, you can leave a conversation (option is present at the top side of each conversation). when everyone in the conversation leaves the conversation thread is automatically deleted. You do not need to worry about it.
